Craig Hinchliffe named as new head of goalkeeping at St Johnstone

St Johnstone have made their first new signing of the season.

Craig Hinchliffe has joined the Perth club as head of goalkeeping.

Saints were on the hunt for someone to work with the goalkeepers following the departure of Elliott Parish and, previously, Paul Mathers.

Hinchliffe was most recently first team goalkeeping coach at Tayside rivals Dundee United and has also worked with Partick Thistle, York City and Motherwell.

He starts with Saints immediately and will “help oversee the development of all goalkeepers registered with the club.”

Manager Steven MacLean welcomes his players back for the beginning of pre-season on Thursday.
