New Hearts captain Craig Gordon celebrated fans returning to games with a clean sheet that set a new record.
The skipper was between the sticks at Tynecastle as Hearts beat Cove Rangers 3-0 with supporters in the ground for the first time in 494 days.
Andy Halliday, Liam Boyce and Gary Mackay-Steven got the goals for Robbie Neilson’s men to make it two wins from two in the Premier Sports Cup group stage.
But it was Gordon’s clean sheet that made history as he bettered Jon McLaughlin’s previous shutout record for the club.
The Rangers goalkeeper kept eight clean sheets in a row during the 2017/18 season but Gordon managed to go one better.
He now has nine clean sheets in a row and it came during a night where he had very little to do.
The Scotland international was barely involved as Hearts took complete control of Group A with six points from six.
Halliday opened the scoring before Boyce added a second before half time, and then Mackay-Steven rounded the win off 10 minutes into the second period.
Hearts now have the weekend off before they take on Stirling Albion next Tuesday, and then Inverness Caley Thistle on Sunday, July 25.
