Craig Gordon missed out on playing a central part in Celtic 's treble Treble run-in.
But the veteran goalkeeper is desperate to make up for lost time by forcing his way back into Neil Lennon's plans.
Gordon's disappearance from the top team at the midway point last season was one of the great mysteries of the Premiership season.
Having been Celtic's best player in the 1-0 defeat to Rangers which immediately preceeded the winter break, the 36-year-old shotstopper never played another minute.
Scott Bain was installed as first choice keeper by Brendan Rodgers and grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
A knee injury then further curtailed Gordon's campaign after Neil Lennon took charge and Dorus De Vries was called upon to sit on the bench for the Hoops' crucial run-in to a third successive clean sweep.
Gordon is now in the final year of his contract at Celtic Park and question marks remain over his long term future. But he insists his focus is entirely on winning back the No1 shirt.
The 54-times capped Scotland international played 60 minutes of the goalless friendly draw against Rennes last week.

And, speaking to Celtic View , he said: "It was probably the right amount for the first game back.
"I felt good when I was out there and I was able to kick well so I was confident with how the knee felt. It was a good first opening for me and I'm ready to push on and get more.
"I need to try and get myself fit first and get 90 minutes under my belt. Once I've proven to myself and everyone here that I can complete 90 minutes then it gives me a shot to get in the team.
"It's up to me to train as well as I can to force that to happen.
"I still want to play as many games as I possibly can in the season but that'll be up to the manager.
"I'll give it everything I possibly can to make sure it happens and then we'll see where we go from there."
