Craig Gordon hails former Celtic teammate Kieran Tierney's rapid rise and offers dressing room DJ insight

Craig Gordon reckons Scotland’s music man Kieran Tierney is now really rocking.

The goalkeeper marvelled as his “world class” former Celtic colleague ran riot from left centre-back to flatten the Faroes.

Terrific Tierney created both of John McGinn’s goals in a barnstorming display.

Gordon confirmed the Arsenal ace also takes charge of the dressing room CD player as well as busting his moves on the park and the Gunners star had Steve Clarke’s troops dancing to his tune last night.

He said: “I thought he [Tierney] was incredible and he has taken his game on even further.

“He talks so highly of the Arsenal coaching staff and how they have helped develop him.

“For us, over the three games, he has been excellent, if not the standout in every single one.

“He has been magnificent and hopefully we can keep him fit and playing at this level.

“I think he is world class, I really do. He is so consistent as well and that is what makes him so good. He has been more consistent and tactically and technically he has improved, playing against better players week in week out. He has raised his level because of that.

“I have seen him come through from 17 to where he is now and he will only continue to get better.

“He is doing it in every game and he’s big for us on and off the park. He is also in charge of the music and he is great for the camp and a real valued member of the squad.”

As well as Tierney’s show, Clarke also got a bonus with Che Adams breaking his Scotland duck.

Gordon added: “You could see how happy he was to get off the mark. He was a little bit frustrated coming in at half-time that he hadn’t got his goal already. But that is great.

“He had the appetite to go back out there and go and get one. It was a good finish as well. I was right behind it. It was right inside the post all the way.

“He is a quality addition to the squad. We really feel as if we are really coming together and have a bit of firepower that can really score goals in this World Cup campaign.

“This camp has been good for us because we have scored in every game and if we can keep doing that they will give ourselves a real chance of getting wins and points.”

Gordon himself was able to cherish a clean sheet having been handed the gloves by his boss in place of David Marshall.

He said: “I had one save first-half that was pretty good and that I was happy with. I got the touch over the bar.

“Other than that, I was just trying to keep everybody on their toes and make sure everybody was doing their jobs in front of me.”

Scotland are now second in the section four points behind Group F leaders Denmark.

The Danes will be hard to catch, but Gordon said: “Who knows? We will take our five points from the last three and keep analysing things after every game.

“We concentrate on ourselves and keep picking up as many points as we can and we will also look at the goal difference.

“All these things are important come the end of this campaign. We just need to keep winning matches.”

Of course, the World Cup bid now goes on the backburner as Gordon and his colleagues look forward to the Euros in the summer.

He said: “Yeah, everybody has to go back to their clubs now and start putting in good performances to keep in the manager’s thoughts for the Euros and for the warm-up matches.

“Whatever camp we can get beforehand depending on what the rules state at that time we will get together and everybody will be desperate to get not that squad.

“It is a big end to the season for all of us to stay fit and impress the manager.

“It is a really good group, everybody in that dressing room is really working for each other and helping each other out on the pitch. It’s a good place to be at the moment, we feel confident, we are happy in the way that we are playing.

“We just need to continue that, try to get some more points and look forward to the Euros and giving the best account of ourselves as we possibly can.”
