Craig Gillespie In Talks To Direct Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow

Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow

Director Craig Gillespie is in discussions to direct the upcoming film Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, adding to the roster of filmmakers expanding the slate of projects for DC Studios, a division of Warner Bros. led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Gillespie, known for his work on projects like Disney's Cruella, I, Tonya, and Pam & Tommy, brings a grounded yet stylish approach to his films. His most recent work includes the GameStop movie Dumb Money.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will feature Milly Alcock from House of the Dragon in the role of Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin. The film draws inspiration from the Tom King and Bilquis Evely comic and will offer a fresh take on the character, distinct from the CW Supergirl series.

James Gunn shared insights on the film's direction, highlighting the contrast between Superman's upbringing on Earth and Supergirl's traumatic experiences on Krypton before arriving on Earth. The script for the project was penned by Ana Nogueira, although no release date has been announced yet.

DC Studios is currently working on its first feature, Superman, with Gillespie joining the team as the potential director for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Represented by CAA, Rumble Media, and Sloane Offer, Gillespie's involvement in the project adds further anticipation to the growing lineup of DC Studios' upcoming films.
