Craig David's stalker who claims she is his girlfriend smiles as she arrives at court

One woman who believes that she is the girlfriend of singer Craig David, grinned as she arrived at court to challenge an order saying she can never see the singer again.

According to The Mirror, 'obsessed' Tanya Jeal smiled as she climbed the stairs with a single crutch to Bromley Magistrates Court in South East London to appeal against the stalking protection order imposed on her.

The 31-year-old who hasn't been convicted of stalking but has an interim prevention order banning her from seeing David for a year, donned a cream cardigan, navy chino trousers, paired with socks and sandals as she walked with a crutch in her left hand.

During Jeal's earlier appearance at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court in January, it was heard that she became 'obsessed an infatuated' with the singer and had been stalking him since 2016, claiming she was his girlfriend.

David has alleged that Jeal, a novelist, came to his home in November 2020, where she rang the intercom several times.

She allegedly held a photo she had taken with him five years previous.

In January, the court was told that Jeal had stayed in the same hotel as David.

She waited for him to arrive and leave the premises, as well as standing 'motionless' at the front of the crowd at a gig in Bedford, where she held the photo throughout, the court heard.

It was also alleged that when staying at the same hotel as David, Jeal used fire exits so that she get to his room and subsequently knocked on the door.

It was said that she then sent a Snapchat photo of herself there, along with the message: "I know you love me."

The court heard that Jeal allegedly posted a note under the door, which read: "I hope Budda deals with lies like you.

"Budda will take this from here, you’re an a**hole, from Tanya, your motherf***ing girlfriend".

So far David has not attended any court hearings with the Metropolitan Police obtained an interim Stalking Protection Order (SPO) on the singer's behalf.

Michael Rhimes, representing the force, told the court: "It is clear she is infatuated with him. It is clear she thinks he is her boyfriend. He is not."

He added: "She has made comments attempting to incriminate his managing team.

In January the hearing was a review ahead of proceedings which will decide whether to impose a full stalking order, this was moved to Bromley as it is closer to Jeal's home.

Today's hearing relates to case management of the hearing which will decide on whether the temporary order should be allowed to run out or a permanent order be slapped on.

"She seems to think this is a Britney Spears-type situation where she thinks his management is exploiting him."
