News of Jack's hospitalisation comes just weeks after Craig caught the virus himself, the Mirror reports.

In September, the Red Dwarf star caught coronavirus days before he was set to start his new job at BBC Radio 6 Music.

At the time he shared an update with fans on Twitter saying that his "breathing is a bit laboured" which he is worried about.

His Twitter post read: "Okay guys I don’t want to alarm, but I've caught the Covid.

"Breathing is a bit laboured which is a worry, but I’ve got an oxymonitor so so far no hospital.

"Starting to feel a bit better but have to isolate, Sorry to let everyone down. Back soon."

Hundreds of people sent well wishes to the DJ, including The Chase's Anne Hegerty who said: "Feel better soon!"
