Craig Bryson no risk policy as Aberdeen send midfielder for scan after horror challenge

Aberdeen have sent Craig Bryson for a precautionary scan – after Murray Davidson’s red card challenge.

The Dons are now awaiting the results of the midfielder’s ankle knock suffered in the brutal collision during Sunday's stalemate.

Derek McInnes is confident that the former Scotland cap has not suffered any further damage and will be fit for the weekend clash with St Mirren , but doesn’t want to take any risks.

McInnes said: “Both ankles have been a bit of an issue for Craig, one in particular.

“The first thought was that he took a sore one again.

“Thankfully Craig was able to play on but we will probably need to get that imaged and see how that plays out.”

Bryson has had a luckless run with injury since he signed for the Dons in the summer.

He was just getting over ankle surgery from last season when he arrived and then he came back and suffered a groin injury and then another ankle injury.

The 32-year-old has just started to get back to full fitness in recent weeks and looks ready to kick on and become a top player for Aberdeen .
