Craig Bruce death: Man charged after body of 37-year-old found on Edinburgh City Bypass

A man has been charged with road traffic offences following the discovery of a body on the Edinburgh City Bypass earlier this year.

Craig Bruce, aged 37 and from Midlothian, was found fatally injured on the central reservation of the A720 between Sheriffhall and Gilmerton in January. He was discovered at around 8.30am on Thursday, 17 January.

And police say they have now charged a 48-year-old man in connection with the incident following a "thorough" investigation. A report will now be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Ross Drummond from Police Scotland's road policing unit is keen to thank the public and other motorists for their assistance throughout the investigation.

He said: "Since the discovery of Mr Bruce's body on the A720, officers have conducted a thorough investigation which has resulted in a man being charged in connection with road traffic offences.

"I would like to thank the public and road users who contacted officers following our earlier appeals for information, and our thoughts continue to be with the family and friends of Mr Bruce at this time."
