March 30--Vendors are being sought for an event to raise money for the East Aurora GreenLab.
East Aurora's Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy plans to build an indoor/outdoor environmental learning laboratory, as well as create a community partnership providing fresh vegetables for families. The East Aurora School District will raise $750,000 to cover construction costs of the GreenLab, which will have a fully functioning greenhouse and outdoor garden spaces. The GreenLab will also include solar panels, wind turbines and a water system for students to study and conduct research.
The Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy is accepting applications from vendors who would like to be part of an April 30 Craft and Plant Sale that would support the East Aurora GreenLab. The cost to have a table is $40.
The Craft and Plant Sale will be from 9 to 11 a.m. April 30, at the Magnet Academy, 157 N. Root St. in Aurora. Set up will begin at 8 a.m.
The deadline to apply to be a vendor is April 15. Vendors will keep their profits from sales. Donations to the GreenLab will also be accepted.
There are two ways to pay the entry fee. Checks can be mailed to Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy, 157 N. Root St., Aurora IL 60505, or the fee can be paid as a donation by following the "Donate" button on www.d131.org/greenlab. Applicants who pay online should print their receipt and attach it to the application, district officials said.
