Cracking aerial photos show Download 2019 from above

Amazing photographs captured by an air ambulance show Donington Park from the sky - and it doesn't take a genius to figure out where Download 2019 is taking place.

Forty-eight-hours of solid rain coupled with thousand of wellied-up rock fans have taken the toll on the ground, churning it up into a quagmire.

Indeed the festival has been dubbed  "Drownload" and "Brownload" due to the horrendous mud and water.

Staff at the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance captured some amazing pictures of the arena yesterday afternoon (June 14) when responding to a 999 call.

The pictures show a very brown-looking festival as thousands of people descended on the arena to watch the first bands.

The tweet reads: "The @DownloadFest looks soggy from above!! Our HEMS team got these views returning to @EMA_Airport from a 999 call for @EMASNHSTrust. Good luck to all attending-stay safe! Hope @DefLeppard @slipknot & @Tool have great shows! It looks drier on Sat and Sun! #DL2019 @TheDownloadDirt".
