Crack cocaine seized in city swoop as suspected dealers named

Detectives today named two men suspected of drug dealing after a school boy was also charged following a city centre swoop.

Police also seized what they termed a "large quantity" of crack cocaine after they stormed the property during Wednesday's drugs raid.

The drugs squad made the discovery after the raid at a property in Moorfields, off Dale Street, not far from the railway station.

A 16-year-old boy was among three charged with drug dealing after the police bust shortly before 2.30pm.

Police today named the two adult suspects as:

Devere Ogungboro, 31, of Goschen Street, Old Swan and Mohammed Awad, 35, of Linacre Road, Litherland.

Along with the teenager they are charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Ogungboro is also charged with breaching a civil injunction.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Detectives charged three men yesterday, Wednesday 3 March, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

"Shortly before 2.30pm, a warrant was executed at a property in Moorfields, Liverpool, where a large quantity of crack cocaine was seized."

All three males were taken into police custody and were due to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today.
