CPM will align with any devil to defeat Congress: Kerala opposition leader V D Satheesan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress party has come down heavily on the CPM for taking the support of the BJP to topple the UDF-ruled Kottayam district panchayat.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan said, “The CPM has become a party which will align with any devil, be it the communal forces or any devils, they are ready to have any kind of deal to defeat the Congress.” Be it majority communalism or minority communalism, the CPM has no hesitation in aligning with such forces to oust the Congress from power, he said.

“If it was SDPI in Erattupetta, now it is BJP in Kottayam, with which the CPM has found alliance to defeat the Congress. With such unholy nexus with the communal forces, the CPM has been exposed in the state. They don’t have any hesitancy in joining hands with the communal forces,” said Satheesan.

Meanwhile, KPCC president K Sudhakaran said a public sentiment should come up against the CPM for aligning with the communal fascist forces in Kottayam district panchayat to oust the UDF from power. In the same district, the CPM has now aligned with two communal forces.

“The latest move by the CPM to garner the support of the BJP to oust the UDF from power will only help the BJP to grow in the district. The CPM is providing a safe haven for the communal forces to grow in the state through such tactics. Now, the CPM has no moral authority to claim that they are fighting against the fascist forces in the state,” said Sudhakaran.

When the UDF has an open stand that it will not align with any communal forces to clinch power, the CPM is having a secret understanding with such forces. The state secretariat of the CPM should make it clear whether this unholy alliance made by the party with the BJP was with the support of the state leadership or not, he added.
