Allegation that the Communist party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)]–led Thrissur Service Cooperative Bank functioned behind closed shutters during national strike has sparked a controversy.
Though the shutters were closed from outside, the bank was functioning, according to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, who gathered in front of the bank.
“The bank led by the CPI(M), which has unleashed violence across the State and prevented others from work, has functioned during the strike. Employees of the left union reached for work even on Monday,” alleged K.K. Aneeshkumar, BJP district president.
This showed the double standards of the CPI(M), he said.
However, the bank authorities said the work was on to repair the server, but bank employees were on strike.
