A Chicago police sergeant was injured Tuesday when three boys threw rocks at her squad car in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

She was on-duty about 8:38 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Cermak Road when the boys, ages 10 and 11, threw rocks from an overpass, Chicago police said.

The rocks broke the windshield of the squad car, and the officer had a minor laceration to her arm, police said. She was taken to an area hospital where she was treated and released.

The boys who threw the rocks were charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass to property, police said. They were released to their family members.
