CP to bid for airport rail link

Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) and its global partners are preparing to bid for the high-speed railway project linking three major airports on Monday.

Adiruth Thothaveesansuk, Vice Chairman-Special Projects Development Office of the CP Group, on Sunday said the company and its business alliance have formed a consortium which will bid for the high-speed rail concessions to link U-Tapao in Rayong, Suvarnabhumi in Samut Prakan and Don Mueang in Bangkok.

"The consortium consists of leading business partners from Thailand and overseas, bringing together world-class knowledge, experience and expertise to develop the High-Speed Rail Linked 3 Airports Project, with all parties willing and ready to support Thailand to the best of their abilities," Mr Adiruth said. "High-speed trains are of great importance to the development of the country and will act as the foundation of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the heart of Thailand's 4.0 economic development.

The consortium and its partners include Charoen Pokphand Holding (Thailand), China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (People's Republic of China), Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (Thailand), and Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited.
