Cowdenbeath v Hearts Betfred Cup fixture forced into venue switch after Central Park is battered by heavy rain

Hearts’ Betfred Cup group match against Cowdenbeath this Saturday will now be played at East Fife.

The Blue Brazil confirmed today that the match has been moved to New Bayview after Central Park was hit by flooding and heavy rain pounded Fife and the old ground bore the brunt of the bad weather.

The League Two outfit moved swiftly to move the game to Methil, and will now take on Robbie Neilson’s men there this weekend.

Their scheduled game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who play Hearts at Tynecastle tomorrow night, has also been switched to the same venue.

"Cowdenbeath FC can today confirm some changes which impact on our Betfred Cup ties v @JamTarts and @ICTFC,” they tweeted.

“Central Park was badly hit by flooding in the storm and will not be ready to host Saturday's game.

“We therefore can now confirm, following discussions with the SPFL and @JamTarts & with the assistance of @EastFifeFC, that our game v Hearts will now take place at Bayview Stadium.

“We have also been in discussions with @ICTFC regarding the Betfred Cup tie at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium on Tuesday 13th October.

"Our thanks go to Inverness Caledonian Thistle and the SPFL for their agreement to advance the kick off time to 6.30pm.”
