Cowdenbeath fire: Footage of 'exploded taxis' that shook nearby homes

Fire crews have rushed to an industrial estate in Fife after ‘taxi exploded’, causing a fire.

Concerned locals claimed that several vehicles caught fire at the Woodend Industrial Estate in Cowdenbeath.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Services (SFRS) rushed to the site when the alarm was raised just before 8 o’clock this morning.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the site as six pumps were sent to combat the blaze. It is unclear at the moment whether anyone was injured.

An SFRS spokesman said: We are currently tackling a fire at a business premises in Woodend Industrial Estate, Cowdenbeath.

“Operations Control mobilised seven fire appliances to the scene after the alarm was raised at 7.59am.”
