FRISCO, Texas _ Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, who missed the past three games with a hairline fracture in his right knee, had his much anticipated return to practice Wednesday aborted because of a cut finger on his right hand.
Per Bryant, he injured himself slicing carrots while making soup at home. He was at practice with tape on his hands, but he didn't do much. Bryant said the cut was extremely minor and he will be ready to go for the Oct. 30 match-up against the Philadelphia Eagles following this week's bye.
"Yeah, he's got a cut on the inside of his hand so he wasn't able to catch balls today," coach Jason Garrett said. "He did a good job moving around, though. I think he's feeling better and better and better."
Asked if he needed to get his star receiver a chef to avoid similar injuries in the future, Garrett smiled and quipped: "Yeah, we've got to address that somehow."
