Cowboys WR Amari Cooper undergoes MRI on knee, hopes to play vs. Vikings

Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper underwent an MRI on his knee Thursday, being forced to miss practice.

Even with that, Cooper hopes to play on Sunday night against the Vikings in Dallas.

“I mean, I want to play,” Cooper said via the Fort Worth Star Telegram. “You know what I’m saying? [I want] to be able to put up numbers to help my team win. Whatever I’ve got to do to do that, I’m cool with it.”

If Cooper can’t go, that will likely mean each team’s best receiver will be out. Minnesota’s Adam Thielen has missed practice this week with a hamstring injury.

On the season, Cooper has 42 catches for 701 yards and six touchdowns.

Since being traded to Dallas, Cooper has been incredible. In 17 games, he has 95 catches for 1,426 yards and 12 touchdowns.

If Cooper does play, it will be interesting to see who the Vikings have cover him. Xavier Rhodes has struggled mightily this season.
