Cowboys' Scott Bolton pleads not guilty to indecent assault

Scott Bolton was still free to play in the NRL after being charged.

North Queensland Cowboys prop Scott Bolton has pleaded not guilty to allegations he indecently assaulted a woman in Bondi earlier this year.

Police allege the 31-year-old was at Bondi Beach Public Bar in May when the indecent assault occurred.

Dressed in a suit, the rugby league player appeared in Waverley Local Court for the mention which was adjourned while police prepare a brief of evidence, including CCTV footage and a victim statement.

The court heard the player will fight the charge.

The matter will return to court on September 5, but Bolton is not required to appear.
