FRISCO, Texas _ The Cowboys turned rookie minicamp into a rookie orientation in hopes of avoiding the injuries of the past.
No real full-speed work, just a glorified walk-through practice.
Some times injuries just happen.
Running back Mike Weber, a seventh-round pick from Ohio State, injured his knee Saturday morning and will have an MRI to determine the severity.
"Yeah, he hurt his knee in the practice so they're going to get an MRI and just kind of check it out," coach Jason Garrett said.
Weber suffered the injury in the morning practice on the second day of the rookie minicamp. He sat out the afternoon practice.
Weber was one of two running backs drafted by the Cowboys to help take the lead off starter Ezekiel Elliott. They took former Memphis star Tony Pollard in the fourth round.
Pollard is more of a gadget guy with Weber considered as the possible traditional backup.
