Cowboys respond to Doug Pederson predicting an Eagles’ win in Dallas on Sunday night

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson got Cowboys week off to a thunderous start when he all but guaranteed a Philadelphia victory in Dallas on Sunday.

While appearing on the 94WIP Morning Show, Pederson made it clear that the Eagles would indeed, “win the ballgame.”

“we’re gonna win that football game, and when we do, we’re in first place in the NFC East.”

Pederson walked those comments back some on Monday, but his comments had already made it to Dallas, and the Cowboys responded accordingly.

“That’s fine,” Jourdan Lewis told USA TODAY Sports. “You’ve still got to face an opponent and the results are still uncertain, so that’s definitely something to get his team riled up and ready to play.

“When you put your affirmations out there so confidently, you feel like it means something way more than it’s already supposed to mean.”

With both teams at 3-3 on the season and the Cowboys losers of three games in a row, Sunday nights matchup is about as crucial as you’ll get for this time of the year. The Cowboys are desperate and with the Eagles having played better competition thus far, Pederson’s comments grabbed all the attention in Dallas.

“If you need a coach, or anybody else, to fire you up, I don’t think you really should be playing,” Gallup said. “That’s what Dak says, really every week. We shouldn’t [need] anybody else to motivate us to be fired up. You should already have that. For me, I’m not looking for anybody to fire me up.”

The Cowboys open the game as slight favorites but enter the game reeling after handing the New York Jets their first win of the season.
