Cowboys reportedly make contract offer to Elliott, await response

The saga continues at Dallas Cowboys training camp. Ezekiel Elliott failed to show up for the start of all the festivities, and he has officially been declared a hold out. Several reports and sources point to the former Ohio State star wanting a contract that surpasses the highest paid running back in the league, Todd Gurley.

It appears the Cowboys are wasting no time trying to put an end to all the drama and have reportedly offered a “solid” contract to the Pro-Bowler, but that of course is in the eyes of the beholder — or in this case offerer. If all the reports are true, anything less than the national deficit may not suffice.

So now the Cowboys wait. And wait. That’s because according to sources close to Jane Slater of the NFL Network, Elliott’s camp has yet to respond to the offer, even to the point of countering with one of their own.

It sure seems like the two sides are at least talking though with at least some urgency, so if you are a Cowboy fan, that’s at least good news.

We’ll continue to keep abreast to all the developments as the holdout continues because we know there’s interest for those that still follow Elliott because of his days at Ohio State.
