Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will mention former coach Jimmy Johnson in his HOF speech

Many Cowboys fans will be on the edge of their seats Saturday evening wondering what, if anything, Jerry Jones will have to say about former coach Jimmy Johnson in his Hall of Fame acceptance speech.

Spoiler alert: Johnson will be mentioned prominently.

Jones and Johnson spoke Friday morning before the Cowboys owner attended the Ray Nitschke Luncheon for the Hall of Fame class of 2017. The meeting was warm and effortless, much like exchanges the two had in February during the 25th anniversary party of the Cowboys 52-17 win over Buffalo.

"It was great to see him," Jones said. "I certainly feel that this wouldn't have been possible, the Hall of Fame for me, had he not initially been the coach of the Cowboys.

"We've known each other since he was 17 or 18 and I was 18 or 19. So we've spent a long time (together).

"I'm particularly thrilled he's here and we'll get to hear some of the things I've got to say about him (Saturday evening)."
