The Vikings and Cowboys are both in the midst of a bye week. The two teams square off in Week 8, and some key players on each team are currently dealing with injuries.
Minnesota, for instance, will be missing CB Patrick Peterson. The Vikings placed Peterson on IR. With Peterson — easily the team’s best corner — out, Minnesota will have to try and stop one of the top offenses in the NFL.
However, the Cowboys’ key ingredient in that offense, Dak Prescott, is currently dealing with a calf strain from Week 6 against the Patriots. According to Jerry Jones, the Dallas quarterback is fine.
“Big ole thumbs up,” Jones said of Prescott, via Patrik Walker of CBS Sports.
“… I feel good about his status.”
Walker also reported that Prescott’s MRI showed that the strain isn’t severe enough to cost the Dallas quarterback any time going forward. So it appears that the Vikings’ new-look defense will have to try and stop Prescott in Week 8.
