Cowboys NRL player Scott Bolton charged with indecent assault

North Queensland Cowboys rugby league player Scott Bolton has been charged with indecent assault after an alleged incident involving a woman at Bondi Beach in Sydney overnight.

The NRL confirmed that its Integrity Unit has been made aware of the allegations and that Bolton, 30, has been granted bail to appear in court later this month.

Police said they were called to licenced premises on Campbell Parade about 10:50pm on Saturday after a female patron reported she had been indecently assaulted.

Officers arrested Bolton on Sunday morning at about 9:20am, following an investigation, at Waverley Police Station.

According to the NRL, Bolton has played 215 games for the Cowboys since making his debut in 2007.

He was a member of the club's 2015 premiership-winning team.
