Cowboys met with Earl Thomas’ agent Thursday at NFL combine

Seattle Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas could soon be a member of the Dallas Cowboys . . . if the price is right.

The Cowboys met with Thomas’ agent, David Mulugheta, Thursday at the NFL scouting combine, per Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

After nine years in Seattle and no contract extension in the works, Thomas is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March. Thomas held out last year before finally reporting for the start of the season with no new deal in place.

“He is open to signing with any team and he has no interest in giving the Cowboys a home discount, according to a source,” Hill Jr. wrote, adding Thomas’ goal is to become the highest paid safety in the league.

Thomas has repeatedly expressed his interest in Dallas as a fan and a Texas native and the team appears to now be in pursuit.

Despite finishing last year on the injured reserve, Thomas will still command a pretty penny and the Cowboys will have to pony up to land the Seahawks’ All-Pro safety.
