Cowboys’ Jerry Jones thanks Giants for trading Odell Beckham

Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey was over the moon when he was able to acquire superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants, but quarterback Baker Mayfield ultimately eclipsed that excitement.

However, more than anyone within the Browns organization, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is elated by Dave Gettleman’s decision to move the single best player in the NFC East.

During a Saturday appearance on FOX Sports to discuss an upcoming boxing match to be held at AT&T Stadium, Jones thanked the Giants for trading Beckham. Then thanked them again. And for good measure, thanked them one final time.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” Jones said.

In seven career games against the Cowboys, Beckham hauled in 35 receptions for 477 yards and five touchdowns. However, similarly to the team’s record as a whole, it didn’t mean much for Big Blue, who went 3-4 against Dallas in those games.

In fact, Beckham’s greatest career moment came in a loss to those very same Cowboys. And while it did help propel his career and super stardom, it did very little for the Giants.
