Cowboys' Bryant plans on returning to practice this week

FRISCO, Texas _ Dez Bryant said Tuesday that he plans on practicing this week. The Cowboys wide receiver wasn't specific about how much he'll be able to do, but participating in practice is the next step in the rehab process.

Bryant has missed the last two games and the last two weeks of practice with a hairline fracture in his right knee. He was using an electronic stimulation machine on his right knee during Tuesday's locker room availability.

Although Bryant's mobility has improved significantly over the past two weeks, his status for this week's game remains up in the air.

"We'll have to see how he works this week," Jerry Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan's Shan and RJ show (KRLD-FM). "We won't take any chances there. But with the way he was running at the end of last week, he had some sensitivity or he would've played. We'll take a good look at it this week. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be big days in where he's going to be against Green Bay."

Bryant, who injured his knee Sept. 25 against the Chicago Bears, wore a wrap around his right knee as he caught passes, jogged routes and worked on resistance cords before Sunday's game against Cincinnati.

"It's just a day-by-day thing," head coach Jason Garrett said Monday. "He has improved. There's no question you've seen that. Each and every day he's moving around better. He's feeling more comfortable. But we'll take his situation day by day. He had treatment (Monday). We'll see how he feels (Tuesday) when he comes in."
