A thug inflicted multiple broken bones on a child up to a month before the injuries came to light.
Patryk Zebrowski, 29, of Ellesmere Port, was arrested after the child, who cannot be identified, was taken to hospital in April last year. Doctors realised that his injuries could have dated back to March, and became suspicious.
According to Cheshire Police, the injuries included multiple rib and leg fractures. Following the discovery, a detailed investigation was undertaken by Detective Sergeant Leanne Bowes from Ellesmere Port CID.

Zebrowski was convicted of causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm at Chester Crown Court, where he appeared yesterday for sentence. He was jailed for three years and six months.
Detective Inspector Lorna Hutcheon said: “Zebrowski is a coward and he deserves to be behind bars. The pain and suffering that the child must have endured is something that nobody should ever have to experience, let alone a child who had no way of defending themselves.
"While the child has now recovered from their injuries, the effects of Zebrowski’s actions will impact them for the rest of their lives."
