Cow killed following two car collision on Inverness road

A man was taken to hospital following a two-car collision with a cow on an Inverness road.

Emergency services raced to the A9 near Tomatin, at around 9.30pm on February 7, after reports of the crash.

One man was taken to Raigmore Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

An eyewitness said one car was on its roof after the collision.

The animal involved is believed to have been pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for two hours.

A pickup truck was also reportedly damaged in the incident

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received reports of a two vehicle RTC involving a cow on the A9 Tomatin, Inverness at around 9.25pm last night.

"Emergency services attended and one passenger was taken to Raigmore Hospital with minor injuries.

"The road was closed for two hours."
