Cow & Gate baby food jars urgently recalled over fears it contains pieces of blue rubber

If you've recently bought a jar of Cow & Gate baby food you might want to check it's safe for your baby to consume.

That's because the company has urgently recalled one of their products from stores amid fears it could contain pieces of a rubber glove

Fragments of a thin, blue rubber glove have been found in a number of 250g jars of Cheesy Broccoli Bake for babies aged 10 months or older.

As a result, The Food Standards Agency (FSA) have warned that the baby food could be "unsafe to eat".

The jars have been on sale at a number of shops across the UK - including all the major supermarkets, such as Asda , Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.

Cow&Gate have said that only one batch of the Cheesy Broccoli Bake was affected.

They add that these jars don't pose a health risk but they are recalling them because they don't meet company standards.

Parents that have purchased one of the affected jars are warned not to feed it to their baby.

In order to discover whether your jar of food has been recalled, check for the batch number 28122020.

The jars will also feature a best before date of December 28, 2020.

Affected products can be returned to the store you bought it from for a full refund, with or without a receipt.
