The Scottish Government announced changes to the quarantine travel lists yesterday meaning some holidaymakers will now have to isolate on return.
Green, amber and red lists all changed due to covid cases rising and falling in some nations across the world.
Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca ( Balearic Islands ) were removed from the green list and added to the amber one due to a high number of cases on the islands.
While Croatia, Bulgaria, Hong Kong and Taiwan were taken off the amber list and added to the quarantine-free green travel list.
Heading in the other direction is Cuba, Indonesia, Myanmar (Burma) and Sierra Leone who are now placed on the red list.
All changes come into effect on Monday, July 19.
People returning from green countries don't have to isolate on return however do need to take a PCR test to prove they are negative.
Those coming back from amber countries who are not double jabbed have to quarantine at home for 10 days then take PCR tests.
Anyone arriving in Scotland from a red list country has to pay more than £1,700 for a stay in a hotel where they have to quarantine for 10 days.
Announcing the changes, Minister for Environment, Biodiversity and Land Reform Mairi McAllan said: "From the outset we have said caution is required regarding international travel and people should think very carefully about travelling abroad as situations can suddenly change.
"When we added the Balearic Islands to the green list we said we would be closely monitoring the data, and the increase in cases we have seen means we now have to take it off the green list."
