Less than a quarter of eligible West Dunbartonshire residents have received their Covid booster jag.
The latest figures come as Dumbarton MSP Jackie Baillie has urged the Scottish Government to accelerate the rollout as a matter of urgency.
Just 24.2 percent of people within the region on the priority list have been given their third dose, just weeks after massive queues saw pensioners waiting hours for their flu and Covid jabs at the Vale leisure centre.
In Argyll and Bute, which covers the Helensburgh area, 30.6 percent of those eligible have had their booster vaccine.
Jackie said: “We are entering winter with worryingly high levels of Covid and with hundreds of thousands of eligible people still waiting on their booster vaccine, including many local people across my constituency.
“If we are to avoid serious consequences this winter then the SNP government must be willing to take meaningful action now.”
On Monday, it was confirmed that those aged 40 and above would also receive a booster jag of either a half dose of the Moderna vaccine of a full dose of the Pfizer jab.
Appointments will be able to be booked in the coming weeks.
It came as a portal was launched for those aged 50 to 59 unpaid carers who are 16 and over, and those aged 16 and over who are household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals to book their slot.
Jackie went on: “Expanding eligibility for the booster is entirely reasonable, but it only makes sense if those already eligible are being vaccinated.
“It’s time for health secretary Humza Yousaf to realise the scale of the situation before us and act.”
Jackie has said that anyone living in her constituency who has been left waiting more than six months between their second dose and booster to get in touch with her office on 01389 734 214 or by email to jackie.bailie.msp@parliament.scot
The online portal for booster appointments for the next tranche of people will provide an advance booking facility with appointments for dates running from late November and December.
The Scottish Government say “anyone in those earlier groups who has missed their appointment for whatever reason can also use the portal to book their vaccinations”.
Health Secretary Humza Yousaf added: “The autumn/winter vaccination programme is continuing at pace and running well and the launch of this online portal will allow eligible groups to book their own appointment.
“As has been the case throughout we aim to vaccinate people as quickly as possible in line with clinical guidance. Over the course of the autumn/winter vaccination programme we will see up to a total of 7.5 million flu and Covid-19 booster vaccinations administered to help protect the people of Scotland.
“If you are eligible for a flu vaccination it is highly likely that you will also be eligible for a Covid-19 booster. Your appointment will see you offered both vaccinations at the same time for your convenience and to make best use of resources. You can check your eligibility at NHS Inform.
“We urge everyone who is eligible and who has online access to book their appointment via the portal to ensure maximum efficiency and secure an appointment that is convenient for them.”
