Covid vaccinations set to open to people aged 38 and 39 in England

People aged 38 and 39 will be able to book their Covid-19 vaccination as early as this week in England, according to NHS sources.

The PA news agency says bookings are set to open from Thursday, May 13, as the vaccine rollout continues.

The reports come just two weeks after the jab was opened to all people aged 40 and over, with text messages being issued to people in that age group.

There has been no official confirmation yet, however, those that received the message had to simply click a button through the national booking service to secure their spot.

Text invitations appeared as an alert from ‘NHSvaccine’ and included a web link to the NHS website.

In Nottinghamshire there have been three hospital hubs offering the jab, at Queen's Medical Centre, City Hospital and King's Mill Hospital.

There is also a large-scale vaccination centre at the former Wickes Building in Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield.

The local vaccination centres are in the following locations:

Ashfield Health Village
Boots in Beeston
Boots in Newark
Boots in Nottingham Victoria Centre
Cripps Health Centre
Edwinstone Pharmacy
Forest Recreation Ground
Gamston Community Centre
Jaysons Pharmacy in Wollaton
King’s Meadow Campus
Newark Showground

Richard Herrod Centre
Rolls Royce Leisure in Hucknall (pharmacy-led site)
The Riverside in Bulwell (pharmacy-led site)
The Towers in Mansfield (pharmacy-led site)
The Village Hotel in Beeston (pharmacy-led site)
