Covid vaccination clinic at Ayr leisure centre cancelled for two days this week

Health bosses have cancelled an Ayrshire Covid vaccination clinic set to run over two days.

Jabs have been axed at the Citadel Leisure Centre in Ayr on Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14.

Ayrshire Live understands that low numbers of bookings have prompted NHS Ayrshire & Arran to cancel the scheduled clinic.

The health board say they will contact anyone booked in to arrange an alternative appointment.

It comes as rules on Covid vaccination certification were announced by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon yesterday.

The changes mean that boosters will be included in a valid Covid passport if a person's second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine was four months previous.

A spokesperson for South Ayrshire Council said: "NHS Ayrshire & Arran have advised that the Covid-19 vaccination clinic scheduled at the Citadel Leisure Centre in Ayr on Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14 has been cancelled.

"If you are booked to attend this clinic, the NHS will contact you to arrange an alternative appointment."

NHS Ayrshire & Arran has been contacted for comment.
