Covid vaccination bus returning to Nottingham at Indian Community Centre

The coronavirus vaccination bus will be returning to an area of Nottingham which has low uptake of the jab in the coming week.

The Nottingham and Nottinghamshire clinical commissioning group started the scheme in a bid to increase uptake of the vaccine in areas where people had been deterred due to conspiracies and concerns.

However, last week its operations were disrupted after around 15 anti-vax protesters took to Bulwell, where it had parked, to exclaim they wanted their freedom back.

The bus was damaged around the same time and was out of operation for a couple of days.

After visiting Newark's Castle ward it will now be visiting Nottingham once again.

It will park up at the Indian Community Centre Association in Hucknall Road on Thursday, April 29.

People may attend to get their jab between 10am and 1pm.

NHS priority groups may book via a link, which is yet to be published, and walk-ins may also be possible depending on availability.
