Covid-vaccinated Scots returning from France must quarantine for ten days after rule change

The Scottish Government has tonight (July 17) announced that those returning from France must self-isolate for ten days upon arrival, even if they are fully vaccinated.

They say that the decision follows ‘concerns about the persistence of Beta variant cases in France.’ The rule change will come into effect from Monday, July 19.

It was previously thought that double-vaccinated Scots would be allowed to skip quarantine after the country was placed on the amber list.

But in a statement, the Scottish Government said: “The changes to the amber list rule for fully UK vaccinated people will not apply to France.

“If you have been in France in the 10 days before you arrive in Scotland, you must self-isolate for 10 days on arrival and take day 2 and day 8 COVID-19 tests.

"When you complete your passenger locator form you must choose ‘No/prefer not to say’ when asked if you are exempt from the requirement to quarantine and take a day 8 test.

“This is under the section of the form titled ‘Your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination status’'
