Covid travel rules: France lifts UK ban for fully vaccinated travellers from tomorrow

France is lifting the travel ban for UK visitors from tomorrow.

This comes after the country recorded a staggering 368,149 daily Covid cases.

A ban was put in place four weeks ago, barring UK travellers after concerns of the Omicron variant lead French officials to tighten their restrictions.

Since mid-December, France only allowed those with essential reasons to enter the country and then relaxed this to allow those who travel for work.

From tomorrow UK travellers wishing to visit France will be able to do so as long as they are vaccinated.

They must also take a pre-departure test within 24 hours before jetting off.

As long as it's negative, fully vaccinated Brits will not have to quarantine.

France is also bringing in a Covid pass to allow entry for domestic venues such as restaurants.

Holidaymakers are encouraged to check the vaccine passport rules which will change on Saturday January 15.

French Minister Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne confirmed the change this morning.

Lemoyne announced on Twitter this morning: “We are relaxing the entry conditions to France from the UK for vaccinated travelers,” tweeted Lemoyne, the minister delegate for tourism.

“End of compelling reasons and isolation on arrival a negative test < 24h will be requested at the start.

“The decree will be published tomorrow morning, with immediate entry into force.”
