PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region recorded only 247 new cases on Monday, with one death. It was a sharp drop from Sunday's total of 598 cases.
The state too saw a fall in cases with just over 780 new patients recorded on Monday, compared to the 2,015 the previous day. This could be due to the so-called "Monday effect", when many private labs don't upload caseload data over the weekend.
A total of six deaths were recorded in the state.
In PMR, PMC areas had 123 new cases. In Pimpri Chinchwad, there were 72 and a total of 52 cases were from the rural and cantonment areas.
