Covid Scotland: Nicola Sturgeon self-isolating after close contact tests positive for virus

Nicola Sturgeon has been informed she must self-isolate after being identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

The First Minister shared the news on Twitter, where she confirmed she is awaiting the results of a PCR test.

Ms Sturgeon received the notification from the NHS's Test and Protect app earlier today.

She tweeted: "I’ve had notification tonight that I’ve been identified as a close contact of someone who is positive for Covid. Accordingly, and in line with the rules, I’ll be self-isolating pending a PCR test result. My thanks to all the contact tracers working so hard in NHS Test & Protect."
