Covid Scotland: further 29 coronavirus deaths confirmed and 803 new cases

A further 29 people have sadly lost their lives to covid-19 in Scotland.

The Scottish Government confirmed the grim statistic this afternoon, while also announcing 803 new positive coronavirus cases across the country, representing 4.6% of the overall tests undertaken.

209 cases were recorded in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde region, with 172 in Lothian and 134 in Lanarkshire.

Nationally, 1,154 people are in hospital, with 102 in intensive care.

Furthermore, a total of 1,446,116 doses of the covid-19 vaccine have been administered in Scotland.

The Scottish Government announced:

  • 803 new cases of COVID-19 reported
  • 19,882 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results – 4.6% of these were positive
  • 29 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
  • 102 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
  • 1,154 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
  • 1,412,643 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 33,473 have received their second dose
