From January 17, the Covid-19 restrictions that were brought into place immediately after Christmas in Scotland will begin to be eased.
Earlier this month, the First Minister announced that the Scottish Government would be taking a phased approach to lifting measures.

This means that certain activities and venues — such as nightclubs and indoor concerts — will not yet be returning, though an announcement on this is expected this week.
However, starting today, the 500-person cap on outdoor public events comes to an end, opening up many activities that were previously not permitted — though proof of vaccination or a recent negative lateral flow test will still be required to gain entry.

Here is everything that you can now do in Edinburgh from Monday as Covid restrictions are eased.
Football matches
Sports fans will be relieved to hear that full-capacity football matches can now take place across the city and country.
It means the Scottish Premiership match between Hearts and St. Johnstone can go ahead with a full crowd at Tynecastle Stadium on Tuesday.
However, at matches with more than 1,000 attendees, organisers will be expected to check the Covid status of at least 50% of people arriving.
Six Nations Championship
The lifting of restrictions on outdoor events is also good news for rugby fans.
The easing of measures comes just over two weeks before the Six Nations Championship is set to kick off, meaning the tournament will not need to be played behind closed doors.
On February 5, Scotland will face off against England at Murrayfield Stadium in what is sure to be a thrilling match.
The team will also return to the stadium later in the month against France.
Outdoor concerts
The capacity limit of 500 being scrapped also means that larger-scale outdoor concerts have been given the go-ahead.
Although the winter weather — which is expected to turn worse later this month — may make this an unappealing prospect, it's still good news for music fans.
