Covid Scotland: Edinburgh school has two classes self isolating after case confirmed

Two whole classes are self-isolating from a school in Drylaw after a person in their class tested positive for coronavirus.

Pupils from Ferryhill Primary School are isolating for 14 days, Edinburgh Live understands.

It is not known exactly how many pupils have now tested positive for Covid, or how many children in total have been asked to self isolate.

We reported last week how another entire class had been forced to isolate at Firhill Primary School.

One pupil who tested positive spoke of feeling "guilty" for making her classmates miss school.

A spokesperson for Edinburgh Council said: “We are working with NHS Lothian’s Health Protection team and parents and the wider school community have been provided with information and reassurance.

"We know that this occurrence may cause concern to some parents and children but we will continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice provided.”
