Prestonfield House has taken the decision to close from Monday June 28 until July 9 after routine testing identified that a staff member had tested positive for Covid-19.
Bosses say that their priority is the health and safety of their guests, team and suppliers and there is no need for their guests to self isolate in this instance.
Health Protection Scotland are said to be satisfied with the “rigorous procedures” that the business has in place.
As a result, Prestonfield has said that there is not a need for them to contact guests who have dined at the establishment over the last two weeks.
James Thomson, of Prestonfield House said in a statement: “We have taken the decision to close Prestonfield from today until Friday July 9, as a precaution.
“The safety and health of our guests ,team and suppliers is our first priority and routine staff testing has detected some isolated cases within our team at Prestonfield. However there is no need for our guests to self isolate .
“We are working with Health Protection Scotland who are satisfied with the rigorous procedures we have in place and there is no concern or need for us to contact any guests who have dined with us over the last week.
“We are currently contacting all guests with upcoming reservations to advise them of the situation.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming guests back when we reopen again on Friday 9th July.
