Covid Scotland: Edinburgh primary school hit with another outbreak as kids sent home

Two classes at an Edinburgh Primary School are in self-isolation after a recent positive case of coronavirus was confirmed.

Edinburgh City council told Edinburgh Live that they were working with Hermitage Park Primary and NHS Lothian after the positive case.

We previously reported in March that at least three full classes were told to stay at home at Hermitage Park Primary School due to a Covid case.

On March 22, parents were sent a letter from the school to inform them that there had been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school and that children who had been in direct contact with the confirmed case would be staying at home for ten days.

A City of Edinburgh Council spokesperson said: “We are working with NHS Lothian’s Health Protection team and parents and the wider school community have been provided with information and reassurance. We will continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice provided.”
