Restrictions in Edinburgh have not been relaxed today after Nicola Sturgeon's lockdown level review.
The First Minister did not announce the city was ready to move to level two of the coronavirus framework, despite many reports.
West Lothian was moved to level three.
A Scottish Government source had suggested that the change was likely to be announced when Nicola Sturgeon reports her decision in the Scottish Parliament.
Ms Sturgeon has already indicted those areas currently in level four will move down a level from Friday, with West Lothian set to move into level three restrictions currently in place in Edinburgh.
A move to level two would have seen significant changes for the hospitality sector in the city, with restaurants, bars and cafes allowed to extend their opening hours from 6pm to 8pm.
Locals would have been able to purchase alcohol indoors alongside a main meal until 8pm, whilst alcohol can be served with or without food outdoors until 10pm.
Similar to the current rules in place, socialising inside another person's home will still be banned.
East Lothian has been in level two for a number of weeks, and a change for Edinburgh would see people be able to travel between the two areas - something which is currently not allowed.
Group exercise such as spin classes will also be able to resume, whilst cinemas and bingo halls will also be able to reopen under strict guidelines.
Any changes announced by the First Minister will come into place from Friday, and will be subject to final confirmation.
