Covid Scotland: 532 new cases but no further deaths recorded in last 24 hours

The number of people with a positive coronavirus test has risen by 532 in the past 24 hours, although no further deaths have been recorded.

This is most likely due registry offices being closed at the weekend.

The latest statistics released by the Scottish Government also confirm the total number of positive cases in Scotland is 213,529.

344 people are currently in hospital with Covid-19, 23 fewer than yesterday. 31 people are in intensive care, no change from yesterday's recorded figure.

2,144,940 people have received the first dose of the covid vaccination and 220,188 have received their second dose.

The Scottish Government reported the number of administered vaccinations yesterday have been revised today due to connectivity issues when extracting the information from the database, which meant that lower vaccination figures were initially reported.

They said there were reporting problems today and the data has been updated in the trends in daily data excel files.

The Scottish Government announced that social care workers can expect their bonus £500 'thank-you' payment next month.

The payment will be issued through local authorities and health boards.
