Covid Scotland: 1,341 new cases reported overnight as hospital numbers rise

Scotland has reported a further 1,341 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The latest figures published by the Scottish Government stated that the 1,341 new cases represent 9.5 per cent of those tested for the virus on Sunday.

Currently, the majority of the country remains in a full lockdown, with strict restrictions in place in most areas.

This weekend saw tougher rules come into force to again try and limit any gatherings, such as changes to click-and-collect services to essential items only.

An outdoor drinking ban is also in place, as well as tradespeople being told that they can now only carry out essential maintenance in clients houses.

Out of the new cases 123 are in the NHS Lothian health board, with a further 412 in Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Hospital figures are also on the rise since yesterday, with 1,918 patients being treated across Scotland, 55 more than on Saturday.

A total of 147 people are also in intensive care units, two more than yesterday.

No deaths have been reported however most registry offices are closed at the weekend.
